Webster was named after Daniel Webster, orator and statesman.

The village of Webster was awarded a $4.5 million NY Forward grant in 2023. Projects included enhancements at Veterans Memorial Park and Harmony House, as well as a conservatory, new signs, and a gateway to the North End Business District.
